The Leader Trenton Needs for the Capital City We Deserve
ABOUT JASI EDWARDS
Jasi Mikae Edwards is a proud Trentonian. She was born in Trenton, raised in Trenton, and is currently raising her own children in Trenton. Because of this deep personal connection, she is profoundly committed to the people who call this city home. Trentonians are her neighbors, her friends, and her family. She knows the challenges the community faces because she has lived them. From surviving homelessness as a young mother to owning multiple properties, and from organizing marches, rallies, and cleanups to championing legislative advocacy and now serving as an At-Large Councilwoman—she has walked a path of struggle and transformation, and that lived experience informs every decision she makes.
With over a decade of experience in local, state, and federal government and a lifetime rooted in this city, she has led efforts to increase access to housing, reform public safety, support economic development, and uplift neighborhoods. She brings a vision grounded in equity, action, and real results. From stabilizing housing and supporting small businesses to expanding city services and restoring public trust, she has worked to meet the needs of residents head-on.
She is running for Mayor because Trenton deserves more, and it deserves strong leadership that also believes it deserves more. Specifically, the city deserves safer streets, cleaner neighborhoods, better services, and real opportunities for its youth, working families, and elders. She believes Trenton deserves a city that works for its residents, not just around them.
Jasi Mikae Edwards also knows that Trenton cannot build itself up alone. She believes in the strength of its people and the promise of its future. The city needs a mayor who can unite people across government agencies, community groups, and the private sector to create real and lasting change. Jasi is committed to fostering stronger intergovernmental relationships and public-private partnerships that bring resources, investment, and innovation into the city. She recognizes that building the Trenton everyone deserves will take all residents working together.
Jasi wants to shake the dust off Trenton’s potential and build a new legacy for the city and its children. Her goal is to lead with compassion, courage, competence, and real solutions, helping Trenton finally become the city it deserves to be. She knows that she is the leader Trenton needs for the Capital City that its residents deserve.
